One of my favorite parts of the line is the girls, they are so fun to create.  Not only do I get to draw and color, than I get to play dress up!

It all starts in the sketchbook...

Than we take these to the computer, and I start to color them in and decide what patterns would be good for these girls.  Here's how these girls came out...

I love to cook, and I love to try new things!  I usually start from something familiar, and I see where the road takes me!  

So last night I experimented with puff pastries, and I think it came out pretty well. 

Ingredients:
Flat Puff Pastry

1 onion- sauteed
2 tomatoes- cut in slices
1 zucchini- cut in rings
Crumbled Goat Cheese
Olive Oil- painted on the puff pastry lightly
Italian Seasoning- sprinkled over top


Directions:
Preheat the oven to 300


Cut the tomato and zucchini into desired sizes. 

 

Cut up the onion, and saute in a pan with olive oil, until it is soft and starts to brown 

Place the puff pastry sheet on a baking sheet and light coat with olive oil. 

Place the tomato, zucchini, onion and goat on the puff pastry sheet.  Sprinkle italian seasoning on top. 

Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. 

This past week, I had the great opportunity to meet an up and coming artist, Victoria Greising.  Her work stays within the tenants of art that we can talk about, line, color and composition but it challenges the way in which we understand it.  Tori works with used clothing to paint with fabric.  

As someone who adores fabric, and can spend hours in the fabric store, this concept is really fascinating.  Her work uses old discarded fabric, so that each piece is not the beginning of a story, but part of a story.  Each piece of fabric has a history of its own, as a t-shirt or bed sheet and she connects these pieces and people together through her unique medium.  

I had the opportunity to chat and get to know her, and it was truly a blessing.  I'm not sure what I'll do with the inspiration she has given me but I will keep you posted.  For now, check out this piece she created and her website!

Mason jars, mason jars and more mason jars.  Who knew there were so many great ways to use a mason jar?!  From the practical to the pretty to the "giftable" and all recycling and reusing.  I just love it!

In the DIY and project corner this week, I thought these were awesome ideas!  From making your own modern piece of art to match your room, to recording a long journey, to finding inspiration and finally creating an amazing platter for yourself or a great gift idea.  All these ideas really got me inspired and added a few more to dos to my list.

Given that it's Valentine's Day, I had to include two cute ideas for sharing the love!

The style corner this week was clearly taken by bags, oh my goodness I just loved these bags!

Finally, in the cooking department this week, I thought given that all I gave you last week was sweets, I should find some things on the healthier side this week.  So here are few foods that look wonderful, interesting and pretty healthy!

Some people see the world in black and white, I very clearly see it in color.  Everywhere I go, I find interesting new things that I love turning into patterns and cards.  

I thought I would start trying to share some of these things with you, so today's is a popular card, "Bamboo", and it was inspired by a tree outside the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.

I thought it would be fun to show you a bit from the studio.  Some of the development of ideas and original hand sketches that make their way into the line.  So I took a few shots of my sketch book to give you an idea of all the things that inspire me.
